This program is designed for adults age 18 & up to encourage life-long reading habits. Once you've earned enough points you'll receive a completion certificate you can print and share!

Welcome to the Kirtland Public Library Summer Reading Program for 2023, which is designed for kids and teens from birth through age 17 to encourage life-long reading-for-pleasure habits!  There are two parts to Summer Reading: reading on your own and attending great eventss.

For the actual reading portion of Summer Reading that you will track with this app, each minute equals 1 point.  If you reach 1000 points by July 22, 2023, hooray for you!  At that point you will have completed Summer Reading and will be able to:

• choose a book to keep forever,
• use your points to bid on raffle prizes (click on the crossed arrows button on your account),
• register for the Outback Ray show on July 29! 
• And all KES students who complete summer reading will be entitled to a tasty surprise from the school this fall.

The Kirtland Public Library is hosting special events for kids age 5 and under, those entering grades K-5th, and those entering grades 6th-12th. Register for these programs at www.kirtland.lib.oh.us. Earn 50 points for each special program that you attend in June and July!

Make sure to visit the Kirtland Public Library often this summer! Each time you visit you will be able to:

• place more stickers on our Summer Reading poster, 
• write the title of the books you have been reading on paper loops to be added to our Reading Chain,
• vote on what color you think Ms. Pam's hair should be at the Outback Ray show,
• and make sure to count how many books you check out, and ask for that many marbles to drop down the marble run before you leave.
