I love the lightning thief by Rick riordan. It has Greek mythology that was very interesting and even though I didn’t know anything about Greek mythology this book explained it well. The story was well written so I was hooked and read it very fast.

This is the first book in a connecting series of Percy Jackson that Rick riordan wrote. In this book it is in the perspective of 3 other demigods going on a quest but they are new to this so the stakes felt higher than usual.

Local author, who spoke at our library, writes a fascinating history of the sinking of the Marquette & Bessemer No. 2. His bibliography is 7 pages long excluding the pages under “Work’s Cited “. I found it a well written and a very compelling book. I appreciated review of facts. I am not nautically trained and yet I could appreciate the details brought up in the challenges of hypothesizing the ship ‘s final resting place.
